Aundriel Sarai Dawkins was born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Franklinville, NJ. Her father is a jazz instrumentalist and singer. Her mother is a pianist, singer and choir director for several churches in New Jersey. Her brother is a drummer and her sisters play the clarinet and saxophone.
She began harmonizing in her church choir at Cecil Deliverance Tabernacle choir at age 2. By age 10 she was booking live gigs throughout the Philadelphia and New Jersey area, including singing at the Independence Day celebration in Fairmount Park. She also began to take piano lessons and continues to play to this day. The marching band, concert band, flute ensemble, concert choir and select vocal choir are areas where she has performed. In her sophomore year in high school she had the distinct honor of performing in the New Jersey All-state choir. Aundriel has performed in many talent shows throughout high school, winning awards at Delsea Regional High School of second place in her junior year and first place in her senior year. In her senior year she auditioned for Philly Idol where she got to meet and perform for members of Boyz II Men.
She has competed and won many titles in the NAACP-ACT Performing Arts Olympic. She currently holds second place in the state of New Jerey for vocal classical, third for vocal contemporary, and first for instrumental classical music. Aundriel is classically trained in opera beginning in 2001. She auditioned and was accepted in Grambling University's Choir where she rose to the position of section leader. The choir performed with gospel legends such as Smokie Norful and the Winans. She majored in vocal performance and is completing her education as a classical vocal performance major. She enjoys singing gospel, soul, R&B, and opera in competitions all around the U.S.
Music is not something she just loves - she was born with it!
