"Caribbean Gem"
O’ Keisha Wilkes aka "Caribbean Gem" was born on January 8, 1989 on the Caribbean Island of St.Vincent, British Virgin Islands. She soon relocated to the U.S. at the young age of 12 with her family, searching for new horizons and challenges.
She presently lives in the Germantown section of Philadelphia with her beloved grandmother. Her mother Lives in New York City while owning and operating her own daycare.
O’ Keisha attended the Jules Mastbaum High School in Philadelphia where she majored in culinary arts but, singing has always been in her blood. It was at the age of 5 when she began to “truly” sing. Over the years she has continued to sharpened her skills. Although petite in stature, her voice is a bonafide powerhouse. O’ Keisha doesn’t sing for a living, she lives to sing!
When O'Keisha was interviewed some "Gems" were revealed. She intimated, "my hobbies are writing, I love to travel whenever I can, and of course singing.
I remember one day we were at work fooling around and I began to sing. One of my co-workers Terrea Fuller kept telling me. "O'Keisha, my dad's (Terry Fuller, President of A&R / DiVergent Music Group) gotta hear you sing", so I laughed and said no. To make a long story short I was given information about an audition for this record label called DiVergent Music Group. I decided to audition for them. I was really nervous that day due to the fact that I didn't really know what kind of artists they were looking for. I auditioned with the song by Tina Marie Out On A Limb and they were blown out of the water!
My only performance was at my high school fashion show and the camp I used to work at. My musical goal is to appeal to the younger and older generations. I don't want to be too famous, but when I am no longer here on earth. I want to leave a legacy within my music."
O'Keisha, we are sure you will!
